Things I Live By
I live in alignment with my values and principles.
I do not carry regrets - if I ever feel I do, I work through the situation until it becomes a lesson of the past to learn from and cherish.
I respond to conflict with calmness, rationality, objectivity, and respect; and I’m willing to make the first move to resolve it because conflict wastes time, and negativity isn’t worth our energy.
- I make attempts, succeed, make mistakes, fail, analyze, learn my lessons, and consistently improve.
- I do not keep negative, time-wasting, or judgemental people around me, nor do I adopt such behavior.
- I do not sacrifice my dignity to those who are in a better position than I am.
- I try my best to be kind to all people, but I do not waste my energy on those who do not want to be helped.
- I am willing to trade my talent, time, skills, knowledge, and innovation to give someone a push along the way or create value in others’ lives.
- I control what I allow into my mind, my emotions, my responses, and my perceptions.
- I express myself in a straightforward and honest manner and expect the same in return, aiming for open and respectful communication.
- I rely on courage, systems, and self-discipline, knowing that self-motivation has an expiration date.
- I refuse to fall into mediocrity.
- I reinvent myself every day as a slightly better version, at my own pace and aligned with my values.
- I let go of anything destructive or burdening, whether inside or outside of me.
- I let people come and go from my life as they are pleased.
- I recognize that I am dynamic, and that everything around me is subject to change; therefore, I remain flexible in my worldview and do not cling to outdated beliefs.
- I strive to be the least knowledgeable person in the room, no matter how uncomfortable it may feel.
- I know my weaknesses and accept my flaws, I focus on developing my strengths.
- I do not consider unsubstantiated opinions or critics.
- I accept that there are things outside my control, but I can course-correct through what I do have control over which is my thoughts and reactions.
- I understand that the problem of our time is living on the surface, where we are a mile wide but an inch deep, and I strive to deepen my knowledge of both the inner and outer worlds.
- I cultivate self-awareness and maintain a deep sense of interconnectedness while knowing how to maintain my composure under pressure, stress, or conflict.
- I strive to seek discomfort and challenge according to my definition, rejecting comfort and security as something that halts my growth.
- I ask myself what the worst possible outcome could be whenever I lack clarity, fall short of my goal, or lose sight of my purpose.
- I understand that I can adjust my circumstances, and I am responsible for both the twists and stagnation in my life, as they expand or shrink in proportion to my courage and actions.
- I recognize that when I respond as "too busy" to someone’s query, it’s because I don’t find it important or interesting enough—otherwise, I would make time for it.
- I remember to focus on the long term and understand that saying "no" is crucial for protecting my energy.
- I keep in mind Memento Mori and accept my limited time on this planet, so I try my best to not waste it on things that serve no purpose.
- I make sure to dedicate my time to the right people so that both of us benefit.
- I realize that frustrations or setbacks are okay and are often stepping stones in disguise to take myself one step further.
- I recognize that my current self is temporary, as is everything else.
- I am present and work with the tools I have, finding better ones as I progress.
- I am incredibly grateful for my life and the people in it. I often think about how blessed and lucky I am. Life seems to lift me up and carry me forward when I feel like I'm falling. Yet, I remember that luck is ultimately the result of my own actions.
